He began his worldview training at L’Abri Fellowship in Switzerland under Francis and Edith Schaeffer, where he first caught a vision for how belief shapes culture. That conviction deepened through twenty-seven years at Food for the Hungry (beginning in 1981; vice president from 1994 to 2007), where he saw firsthand how lies enslave and truth sets people free. In 2008 he helped launch DNA as a movement dedicated to educating and equipping the Body of Christ to disciple nations.
He has traveled and lectured in more than a hundred countries. His books and publications have been translated into more than a dozen languages. His heart beats at the intersection of worldview and the life of nations: poverty, the dignity of women, vocation, education, and the Sacred-Secular Divide that taught the church to stay nice and stay out.
