That sentence deserves to stand alone. It is perhaps the most important sentence in this entire book. Every benefit of Western civilization — every hospital, every university, every legal system that protects the innocent — is a fruit of the Judeo-Christian worldview. And the root of that worldview is the Jewish people, and the God who spoke to them, and the moral universe He revealed through them.

Those who celebrate the fruits while despising the root are not merely ungrateful. They are sawing off the branch on which they sit.

The description
