Offer: an eight-week sermon series — the book’s eight parts — plus a study guide already in the back of the book. Not twenty-seven sermons. Not a geopolitics series.

On October 7, 2023, the world witnessed the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust — and then watched much of the world celebrate it. Crowds chanted. University presidents could not say genocide-calls were wrong. And in solid, Bible-believing churches, young evangelicals sounded “very much like young antisemites.” That conversation would not let Darrow Miller sleep. It is why this book exists.

Charlie Kirk’s killing is the proof that the culture of hatred comes after Christians along with the Jews. The canary is dying. The gas in the mine will not stop with the Jews. Christians are next. From the pastor briefing

Three failures still in your church

Replacement theology

As if the church replaced the people of the covenant. Romans 9–11 says otherwise. The gifts and the calling are irrevocable.

The Sacred-Secular Divide

Stay nice, stay out, call neutrality faithfulness. That is how 1933 happened in a Christian country. That is how 2023 happened in your pews.

Lost Hebrew roots

We kept the fruit — our Bible, our moral universe, our Messiah — and forgot the root. You cannot hate the root and love the fruit.

Eight-week series

Preach the parts, not the twenty-seven chapters. A four-week October alternate is Root → Gift → Horror → Church.

Week 1 · Part I

The canary is dying

October 7 + Weiss + Kirk. It is never just about the Jews.

Week 2 · Part II

The gifts we forgot

Abraham. Imago Dei. Cahill. The moral universe the Jews gave the West.

Week 3 · Part III

Why they must be erased

Hitler versus the Ten Commandments. Horn: the world loves dead Jews.

Week 4 · Part IV

When the gift becomes a target

Isaiah 5:20. Romans 1. Calling murder “resistance.”

Week 5 · Part V

The church that looked away

1933. The Sacred-Secular Divide. Bonhoeffer and the remnant.

Week 6 · Part VI

Frontlines

Campus. Words that matter: Hamas and shalom.

Week 7 · Part VII

Two civilizations

A worldview war, not a policy war.

Week 8 · Part VIII

This is the hour

Presence / Voice / Action. Psalm 122:6.

Presence · Voice · Action

Only the church can name this as an assault on the God of Abraham. Solidarity is not a blank check for every Israeli policy.

Presence

When Jewish communities in your city are targeted, the church shows up.

Voice

Preach Romans 9–11. Name October 7 as murder, not “resistance.” Say Kirk out loud: this hatred comes for Christians too.

Action

Educate. Examine how your people were formed. Pray Psalm 122:6. Support the work that actually stands with the Jewish people.

Jewish friendships

Not for the purpose of evangelism—that instrumentalizes the relationship and undermines trust—but for the purpose of genuine human connection. Chapter 17

Do not hunt converts. Become Righteous Gentiles in this generation.

The study guide is already in the book

Four to six questions per chapter. A ninety-minute leader’s guide. A glossary. Ship the book as the text. Do not wait for a separate curriculum.

Germany was a 95 percent Christian nation. The Sacred-Secular Divide — a Greek dualism, not a biblical one — taught the church that public hatred of Jews was someone else’s problem. It was “the most catastrophic application of the Sacred-Secular Divide in the history of Christianity.” After October 7: the same silence, produced by the same formation, in a different century.

Understanding without action is simply a more educated form of complicity. We know. And because we know, our silence—if we are silent—is not ignorance. It is choice. This is the hour.
